Hexarelin promotes the secretion of growth hormone (GH). Compared to GHRP-6, Hexarelin is more resistant to breakdown by enzymes. It consists of 7 amino acids: H-His-D-2-Methyl-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, with a molecular weight of 887 Dalton. Its molecular formula is C47H58N12O6.

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptides (GHRP-2, GHRP-6, and Hexarelin) belong to a small group of peptides that act on the pituitary gland and hypothalamus to promote the release of GH. These peptides were identified 20 years ago and have demonstrated through clinical studies their ability to stimulate the pituitary to generate endogenous growth hormone.

GHRP-2, GHRP-6, and Hexarelin are interchangeable medications that operate via similar mechanisms.

Among these, Hexarelin is regarded as the most potent peptide for boosting GH secretion. It also significantly elevates cortisol and prolactin levels. GHRP-2, while slightly less potent than Hexarelin, causes a lower increase in cortisol and prolactin. GHRP-6, meanwhile, is weaker than GHRP-2; it does not affect cortisol and prolactin levels when administered in doses up to 100mcg, but at doses greater than 100mcg, the rise in cortisol and prolactin is mild.

Another agent that stimulates endogenous GH release is long-acting CJC-1295 (a Long-acting Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone Analog).

The typical dosage schedule for these peptides involves a cycle of 16 months. Dosing is individualized, with injections administered 1-6 times daily, starting at 25-50mcg and gradually increasing by 25-50mcg to minimize side effects. After achieving the desired dose, one should return to the initial amount. Injections are generally given subcutaneously in the abdominal area 30 minutes before or 1-1.5 hours after a meal, with an interval of 3-4 hours between them to allow the body time to produce GH for subsequent release.
